On 14 September 2009, The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) introduced a major integrity focused reforms to the subclass 457 visa program that includes, amongst others, a new sponsorship obligations regime, a new system for the payment of salary for visa holders, tougher sanctions regime, and new arrangements for the payment of health costs for visa holders.
